Parent Coaching

Helping You Embody FIRM & KIND In Your Parenting

Does this sound like you?

  • You’ve read books, followed IG accounts, and even joined courses and memberships, but are still looking for “the answer” to parenting challenges

  • You always feel mean when you try to hold a boundary

  • You’re starting to believe the parents at the park who say your kid is running the show

  • You resent that your needs are always put on the back burner

  • You notice that you are not as happy in parenting as you expected to be

These are all very common, but that doesn’t mean that you are destined to live this way!

The problem is that the things you are learning and doing to be the best parent you can be don’t go deep enough to help you show up differently and transform your relationship so that both you and your kids thrive.

And what’s worse, they can actually feed into perfectionism, anxiety, and shame,

resulting in the opposite of what you were hoping for.

What others are saying about working with me…

  • You should drop every other commitment you have at the moment and sign up for parent coaching with Heidi. Heidi practically read our minds. She is very intuitive and understanding and really digs into the heart of the issues. Heidi helped us to be better parents, but also improved our marital relationship and our relationship with ourselves. She offers compassion and wisdom along with humor so that you walk away feeling like you can face the challenge of tackling the hard work in the lifelong healing process.

-Michele & Dylan, Parents of two kids (6 & 8 years old)

  • Heidi has a deep knowledge of Peaceful Parenting (and more) and truly understands that every child and family is unique. She won’t offer the usual one-size-fits-all solution, instead working with you to uncover what will work best for yourself AND your child. Heidi is empathetic, straightforward and skilled - not afraid to think outside the box for solutions to your parenting challenges. You are definitely in capable hands with Heidi as your coach!

    -Meghan, Mother of 2 (ages 8 & 11)

  • Having Heidi there to help us sort through the chaos has been the game changer I was hoping for. She helped us understand and work with the nervous system, ours and our kids, both in and out of the moment. She gave us the scaffolding we needed to work together with our children and get their input about difficult situations, like long car rides, and find win-win solutions. We feel happier and closer as a family now. I don't know why we waited so long to get help with parenting. Heidi is really easy to talk to, and we felt nothing but empathy and compassion from her, even when telling her about our grittier moments of parenting that we aren’t so proud of.

-Amelia and Steven, parents of 4 kids (ages 4-12)

Not Your Mother’s Parent Coaching

Just kidding! Parent coaching isn’t a resource that was widely available to prior generations.

But even so, my approach is pretty different than what you might expect.

Although I will offer you neuroscience-backed suggestions on how to handle specific situations with your kids, that’s not my focus. Because what you DO as a parent is only 20% of the equation. The other 80% is all about you, your nervous system, how you feel, and how you show up as a result. So that’s where we spend most of our time.

All sessions begin with discussion about what has been going on, what is weighing on your heart, and—if you don’t know where to start—the goals you set before our work together truly began. But instead of rehashing the story and relying exclusively on logic to find a solution, we will spend time dropping into your body, getting present, feeling (and giving trippy descriptions of!) sensations, and moving energy and emotions so that you can transform whatever is standing in the way of the parenting life you want to lead. Then we’ll talk about some practical tips for how you can support yourself and your child between sessions before ending with an abbreviated Lovingkindness meditation in which we send lovingkindness to yourself or your child depending on what feels right in the moment.

Getting Started With Parent Coaching

Option 1

This three-month package is designed for one parent-coachee and includes 6 one-hour sessions plus asynchronous (Telegram or email) access to me for additional support.

Prior to our first session, you will complete a brief, written intake form that will help clarify your goals for coaching and enable me to tailor my support to you.

During sessions, we will explore individual events related to your goals and use them as a springboard for emptying your emotional backpack and growing your capacity.

After each session, I will send you an email that summarizes the session, including key takeaways and invitations to help you take your experience deeper.

Option 2

This three-month package is designed for 1 or 2 parent-coachees and includes 3 hour-and-a-half and 6 one-hour sessions plus asynchronous (Telegram or email) access to me for additional support. A bit about me

Hi! I’m Heidi.

I’m on a mission to help smart, thoughtful, and committed parents like you reduce the overwhelm, feel more confident, and raise kids who thrive.

Most of the parents I work with already practice Peaceful Parenting but something isn’t quite working. Maybe the suggestions that they are getting don’t quite seem to “fit” their family. Or maybe the suggestions do—but it feels like way too much work for the parent. In both cases, my approach combines Peaceful Parenting with neuroscience and Mindful Parenting so that parenting feels both more effective and more easeful.
